What is the equivalent of a shop front on YouTube? Today you are going to find out. Watch the video below or scroll down to keep reading.
Your YouTube Shop Front
Your shop front is the first thing that you potential customers see and it has to make a good first impression, the same could be said of your website. The equivalent on YouTube is your channel art. The channel art sits at the top of your YouTube channel and should be the first thing your viewers see when they click on your channel.
Capture Their Attention
So what makes good channel art? First you need a good backing image that captures your viewers attention. It could be a line up of your products, you in a very beautiful setting, an example of your work, it has to fit your business.
Keep It Regular
Next you need to let your viewers know what to expect from your channel. Are you going to be posting regular content (I highly recommend it). If so let them know when to expect new videos. So for me I have ‘New videos every Thursday at 12pm’.
Get It Covered
Next you want to include what your channel covers. Are you going to be giving how to advice? Product demonstrations? Lifestyle advice? Add this in to your art.
Why Should I Listen To You?
Finally you want to include some social proof. It could be how long you have been in business, awards you have won or publications you have been featured in. This is letting your viewers know why they should listen to you.
Now Go Create It
So to put all this together you will need some editing software, if you have photoshop, great. If not you can use a free site like Canva.
That’s A Wrap
You need to keep your image to certain proportions so in the next video I am going to show you how to create your channel art in Canva so make sure you subscribe to catch it.
